Oregon Fishing Report, October 15, 2009
With the first substantial rain on the North Oregon Coast hundreds of coho made the push up the Trask River. Along with some bright king salmon they could be seen all day busting through shallow tailouts making their way up stream. We fly fished for these movers, managing to hook a few as well as one large king salmon that unfortunately shook free before we could net him. We also threw streamers for sea-run cutthroat trout on 4wt fly rods catching some very nice fish. The season for sea-runs closes at the end of the month, but look for salom fishing to only get better as we get closer to November. Space is available so call now to get in on the action.
